Thank you for shopping with The Card Cache. This Shipping Policy outlines how orders are processed, delivered, and handled, including important information regarding insurance, pre-orders, and international shipments.
Shipping Areas & Methods
South Africa (Domestic Shipping)
We offer a range of delivery options within South Africa, including door-to-door courier services. Available shipping methods and costs will be displayed at checkout based on your location and order size.
Western Cape Collection Option: We offer a free collection option for customers in the Western Cape. This option will be presented at checkout, once your order is processed, you will be contacted to arrange collection.
International Shipping
We ship internationally to selected countries. Customers are responsible for ensuring that items ordered can be legally imported into the destination country.
When placing an international order, the recipient acts as the importer of record and must comply with all local laws and regulations.
Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates
- Shipping charges are calculated and shown at checkout
- Delivery timeframes are estimates only and begin once your order has been dispatched, not when it is placed
- Delays may occur due to courier constraints, customs clearance, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control
Order Processing Time
- Orders are typically processed within 2–3 business days
- Orders are not dispatched on weekends or South African public holidays
- During peak periods or promotional events, processing times may be slightly extended
If a significant delay is expected, we will notify you via email or telephone.
Shipment Confirmation & Tracking
Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking details. Tracking information may take up to 24 hours to become active on the courier’s system.
Loss, Damage & Shipping Insurance
Standard Shipping
Once an order has left our premises, responsibility transfers to the courier. The Card Cache is not liable for loss or damage in transit unless shipping insurance has been selected.
Customers must lodge claims for lost or damaged parcels directly with the courier.
Shipping Insurance
Coverage:
- Complimentary Insurance: Insurance is complimentary (free of charge) for door-to-door delivery orders with a value up to R1000.
Standard Shipping Liability: The Card Cache is not liable for products lost or damaged by the shipping carrier once the package leaves our premises. Any claim for loss or damage must be filed directly by the customer with the chosen shipment carrier.
Customs, Duties & Taxes (International Orders)
Customs duties, import taxes, handling fees, and any related charges are not included in shipping costs and remain the responsibility of the customer.
We are unable to estimate or refund these charges.
Pre-Order Shipping Policy
Combined Shipping
Orders containing pre-order items will only be shipped once all items in the order are available.
Split / Early Shipping Requests
If you request partial shipment of available items before a pre-order arrives, an additional R99 shipping fee per split shipment will apply.
Estimated Arrival Dates
Pre-order arrival dates are estimates only and may change due to supplier delays, production issues, or international shipping disruptions beyond our control.
Pre-Order Payments & Pricing
- Full payment is required to secure a pre-order
- Pre-order pricing is subject to change due to exchange rate fluctuations, customs costs, or supplier price adjustments
- If a price increase exceeds 10%, you will be contacted before dispatch and given the option to proceed or cancel for a full refund
Pre-Order Cancellations
- Customer-initiated pre-order cancellations are subject to a 20% processing and restocking fee
- If The Card Cache cancels a pre-order (e.g. due to supplier shortages), a 100% refund will be issued
Order Quantity Adjustments
In rare cases of limited supplier allocation, we may adjust item quantities in an order. You will be notified of any changes and refunded in full for any items removed.
Pre-orders are allocated and fulfilled in the order they are received, subject to availability.
